Semi-Private Scuba Diving Course

The Open Water Scuba Diving course is a full certification course allowing you to scuba dive independently of an instructor or divemaster. As a certified diver you will experience amazing dive destinations and marine life, new friends, new adventures and lots of fun.

The Open Water Diver course has three sections:

Knowledge Development: You will learn the theory required to be confident in the water. You will need to complete this self study course before Confined Water Training begins. The Scuba Diver Education System contains everything you will need to complete the Open Water Scuba Diver Course. It includes scuba diver textbook, workbook, student record folder, DVD, audio CD, training and recreational logbook. On the first day of your course, you will review, with your instructor, the skills that you will learn. At the completion of your course you will take an exam demonstrating your understanding of scuba diving concepts.

Confined Water Training section, You will develop your basic scuba skills, including how to prepare your scuba gear, entering and exiting the water safely, breathing comfortably under the water and clearing your mask without having to surface. You will also learn some emergency skills to give you the comfort and confidence needed in the open water. There will be 2-3 sessions in a pool. Each session will last 3 – 4 hours.

Open Water Dives: This will complete your certification. You will put your new skills into practice and experience the underwater world. The skills that you learned in confined water are repeated giving you the experience needed to dive safely. These dives will be at Dutch Springs. There will be 4-5 dives completed over 2 days, 4 - 6 hours each day.
